How I Fell Hard for Biking, Rova Magazine
April, 2019
When I first moved to Steamboat Springs, I was only interested in skiing. But soon after moving, I was convinced to get a mountain bike. Learning how to bike is one of the most difficult challenges I have faced in a long time. In the end, it taught me preparedness while simultaneously letting go of control. I have the Steamboat trails and community to thank for teaching me these lessons, and making me fall in love with the sport.
7 Essentials for your Next Hut Trip, Steamboat Chamber
December, 2019
When skiing in the backcountry, it is important to take the essentials with you in order to stay safe out there. For this reason, I wrote an article for Steamboat Magazine that advises people what to bring with them when they ski out of bounds, based off of advice from skiing professionals.
How Colorado Prepared 10-Year-Old Selah Schneiter for El Capitan, 5280 Magazine
July, 2019
In June, the Glenwood Springs-based climber became the youngest person to climb the Nose on El Capitan. And she couldn't have done it without the help of her father, Mike Schneiter, and a whole host of Colorado climbs.
Smoak'd Old Fashioned, Steamboat Magazine
February, 2019
Interviewing the lead mixologist. Mark Stanford, of Steamboat's Truffle Pig restaurant was fascinating, as a local and a wannabe foodie. Stanford has created many masterpieces at the restaurant, and his Smoak'd Old Fashioned leads the pack. Check out the history and process behind the delicious drink here.
Little Givers Makes a Big Impact, Steamboat Magazine
June, 2023
A small cup of coffee can make a big difference. When Stephany Traylor opened her Steamboat Springs coffee shop, Dusky Grouse, she knew that she wanted to brew beans alongside connection and community. Now, nearly two years since its opening, many of Stephany’s customers see Dusky Grouse in the same light as she does: a space that does so much more than serve lattes.
